NoGeneral ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data.

We operate in full compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide our services.

A. Member accounts

When you create an account on nogenerals.com:

Display name or username
Email address
Password (stored in encrypted, hashed form by our website platform; we never see or store your password in readable form)
Profile picture, if you choose to upload one
Account creation date, last sign-in date, and sign-in activity
IP address and browser or device information, used to keep your session secure

B. Barracks membership

If you subscribe to the Barracks membership:

Membership plan, status, start date, renewal date, and cancellation date
Payment status and order history
Billing details, processed by Square (or PayPal, if used). We do not receive or store your full card number.

C. Member area activity

So the members area works as intended, we record:

Which member videos you open
Your watch progress and completion state, used for "continue watching" and "watched" markers
Search terms you type into the video vault
Basic access logs, used to keep member-only content restricted to members

D. At purchase or order time

Name (or Discord username)
Email address
Billing and order details (processed via Square, or PayPal if used)
Order history

E. For coaching sessions

Discord username and ID
Communication logs for scheduling and delivery

F. Communication and support

Messages you send via email or Discord

We do not collect sensitive personal data (for example government ID numbers or health information).

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely for:

Creating, securing, and managing your member account
Verifying your membership and granting access to member-only videos and settings
Saving your watch progress so you can resume where you stopped
Processing and fulfilling your orders, bookings, and subscription payments
Delivering coaching sessions and digital content
Managing access to Discord for coaching
Sending service messages about your account or membership, such as receipts, renewal reminders, and password resets
Customer support, inquiries, or refunds (if any)
Preventing fraud, credential sharing, and unauthorised access to member content
Tax, accounting, and legal compliance
Improving website and service performance

We do not sell, rent, or share your data for third-party marketing or advertising purposes.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Under GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:

Contractual necessity: to create and maintain your account, verify your membership, deliver member-only content, save your watch progress, and fulfil orders and bookings
Legal obligation: for tax, accounting, and recordkeeping
Legitimate interests: to keep accounts and member content secure, to detect misuse or account sharing, and to understand in aggregate which videos are useful
Consent: when you voluntarily contact us, opt in to marketing, accept non-essential cookies, or choose to load an embedded video player

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced those interests against your rights and freedoms, and you may object at any time (see section 10).

5. Age Requirement

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account on nogenerals.com. Ireland's digital age of consent under the Data Protection Act 2018 is 16.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If we become aware that an account belongs to someone under 16, we will delete the account and its data. If you believe a child under 16 has given us personal data, contact us at the address in section 13 and we will remove it.

6. Storage, Security & Retention

We store data securely via Wix, Square / PayPal, YouTube, and Discord, using encryption and access controls.

Account security is shared. Keep your password confidential, do not share your login with others, and tell us immediately if you think someone else has accessed your account.

Retention periods

Account data (profile, email, sign-in records) — retained for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, we remove your account data within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal or tax reasons. Residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for up to a further 90 days before being overwritten.
Watch progress and video activity — deleted together with your account.
Membership, order, payment, and session records — retained for up to 2 years after the last transaction, or longer where Irish tax law requires it.
Communication logs (email / Discord) — retained for up to 12 months, unless needed for support or legal reasons.

Where no fixed period applies, we use objective criteria (for example legal obligation or fraud risk) to determine when data should be deleted.

Security and breaches

We implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your rights, we will notify the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) and any affected individuals as required by law.

7. Sharing, Processors & Contracts

We do not sell or share your personal data for marketing.

However, we use trusted processors to operate our business:

Wix — website hosting, member accounts, membership plans, and order handling
Square — payment processing
PayPal (if used) — alternate payment processing
YouTube / Google — hosting and delivery of member videos. Member videos are unlisted or private, but when a video player loads, YouTube receives your IP address and device information and may set cookies. This happens only after you consent to non-essential cookies.
Discord — coaching communication and access

We maintain Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) or equivalent safeguards with each processor. For cross-border data transfers (outside the EEA), we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other lawful mechanisms.

8. Cookies & Analytics

We use both essential and optional cookies.

Essential cookies — required for site functionality, checkout, and for keeping you signed in to your member account. These cannot be switched off without breaking the members area.
Non-essential cookies — analytics, performance, and embedded video cookies, used only after you give consent through our cookie banner.

Embedded video. Member videos are served through YouTube using privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which reduces but does not remove tracking. Players load only after you accept non-essential cookies. If you decline, video playback may be unavailable.

We rely on your consent for all non-essential cookies, in accordance with the ePrivacy Directive and EU GDPR. You can manage or revoke cookie preferences at any time through your browser settings or our cookie control panel. For more details, see Wix's Cookie Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.

9. Your Account: Access, Changes & Deletion

You can review and update your display name, email address, and profile details at any time from your account settings while signed in.

You can close your account at any time. Deleting your account cancels your access to member-only content and removes your watch history and progress. Deleting an account does not automatically cancel an active paid membership, so cancel the membership first, or contact us and we will handle both.

If you cannot access your account settings, email us at the address in section 13 and we will action the request.

10. Your Rights & Complaints

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access — request a copy of your data
Rectification — correct inaccuracies
Erasure ("right to be forgotten") — request deletion where lawful
Restriction — limit processing in certain cases
Portability — receive your data in a portable format
Objection — object to specific processing, including processing based on legitimate interests
Withdraw consent — withdraw cookie or marketing consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out

While NoGeneral is based in Ireland, clients and members may be located outside the EU/EEA. By using our services, you consent to your data being processed in the EEA under GDPR-level protections.

12. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, technology, or operations. Each new version will include a revised effective date. Where a change materially affects members, we will notify account holders by email or by notice on the site. Continued use of the website or services implies acceptance of the updated policy.
